Let’s have some fun judging some photographs using the PSWD Score Card. Assume these are entered in the Miniature Rose at most perfect stage class, and also assume they meet all requirements for conformance.
Clicking on each photograph will give you a larger view.
Using the Score Card to judge, which would you score the highest – A, B, or C? It would be very helpful if you would leave comments as to why you made the choice you did.

I’ll give my take after people have time to vote and to leave comments.

I voted for entry B because the composition, technique and distinction for that class were excellent. I did not vote for entry A because although the framing, focus and color of the bloom were interesting, for best mini in class, it was distracting to see the pot rim and rose leaves and for the class, it did not have the wow factor because it was too small and not as important as it should be. I did not vote for entry C because it was too huge in the photo with sepals chopped off, the framing could have been better and it was slightly out of focus on the lower petals; also the color seemed a little faded.
The rose is nearly lost in entry A; it needs to be much more prominent. I voted for entry C even though the sepals are cropped. While entry B provides a somewhat better perspective of the rose, there are too many distractions competing with it. My eye is immediately drawn to the sepals and, to a lesser extent, the stem and the pot rim.
